Asia Rose Simpson ended her Miss World 2026 journey with a Top 12 finish, giving the Philippines another strong showing on the international pageant stage.
The Filipino-American beauty queen advanced to the Top 12 during the 73rd Miss World coronation night on September 5 in Nha Trang, Vietnam, but did not make it to the final Top 6. The Dominican Republic’s Joheirry Mola Dominguez ultimately won the crown.
While Simpson did not bring home the Philippines’ second Miss World crown, her run was marked by several achievements throughout the competition, including winning the Asia and Oceania Head-to-Head Challenge and reaching the Top 3 of the talent competition.
A strong run from the Philippines
Simpson entered the international competition with considerable attention after being crowned Miss World Philippines 2026 in February.
Representing Quezon City, the 18-year-old won the national title after competing against 23 other delegates. She also received the Beauty with a Purpose and Talent Challenge awards during the national competition, setting the tone for her international campaign.
At Miss World 2026, Simpson continued to perform well across the competition’s different challenges.
Her Head-to-Head victory for Asia and Oceania secured her a place in the Top 20, while her performance in the talent competition brought her into the Top 3. The official Miss World organization listed Simpson as one of the challenge winners who advanced directly to the Top 20.
Her eventual Top 12 finish placed her among the strongest candidates from the 111 delegates competing for the crown.
Simpson’s answer focused on unity
One of the most memorable moments of Simpson’s final night came during the Top 12 question-and-answer round.
Asked what she wanted the rest of the world to understand about the place she represented, Simpson drew from her own Filipino-American identity.
“We speak about diversity and I am half Filipino, half American so I know what it is like to represent two sides of the coin,” she said.
She went on to describe Filipinos as resilient and hospitable, but said that what she knows most strongly is the Filipino love for family.
“If I were to bring one value from my country to the world it would be unity,” Simpson said, connecting the value to Miss World’s gathering of 111 countries.
Her answer reflected one of the central themes of her pageant journey: using her multicultural background as part of how she represents the Philippines.
More than the crown
Simpson’s profile also extended beyond the traditional pageant categories.
According to her official Miss World profile, she is a student who hopes to become a published children’s book author and illustrator. She also plans to study theology and the arts and has interests ranging from crocheting and baking to painting, reading, writing, poetry and gymnastics.
Her creative background was also visible during the competition. Simpson’s talent performance helped her secure a Top 3 spot, adding another highlight to her international campaign.
The Miss World platform also gave her an opportunity to present ideas that went beyond pageantry, particularly through the Head-to-Head Challenge, where she discussed the importance of sports and dance.
A continuation of the Philippines’ pageant legacy
Simpson was competing with the possibility of becoming only the second Filipina to win the Miss World crown, following Megan Young’s historic victory in 2013.
That title remains one of the Philippines’ most significant achievements in international pageantry, making every succeeding Miss World Philippines representative part of a much larger legacy.
Young herself praised Simpson after the competition, calling her journey her “favorite to follow” and expressing pride in the young beauty queen and her team. She also told Simpson that she believed the experience was only the beginning of something bigger and brighter.
For Simpson, the Miss World crown may have remained out of reach this year, but the journey gave her a global platform at just 18 years old.
Her Top 12 finish, Head-to-Head victory and talent achievement have already established her as one of the Philippines’ notable pageant representatives of 2026.
And perhaps most fittingly, the value she chose to bring to the world was not a title or a trophy.
It was unity.
