Filipino gamers now have a dedicated destination for official Nintendo merchandise, consoles, and games, as the Philippines’ first authorized Nintendo store officially opened at SM City Makati.

The launch marks a significant milestone for the Japanese gaming giant’s growing presence in Southeast Asia. Opening its doors on May 22, the store drew enthusiastic crowds of gamers, collectors, and families eager to be among the first to experience the space.

Visitors were also treated to appearances by the company’s iconic mascots, Mario and Luigi, adding to the festive atmosphere during the opening weekend.

For generations of Filipinos, Nintendo has been synonymous with gaming memories — from afternoons spent on the family computer to modern multiplayer sessions on the switch.

Just last April, ‘The Super Mario Galaxy Movie sparked renewed excitement among fans, further fueling nostalgia and interest in the brand. Now, with the opening of its first authorized store in the country, Filipino fans have another reason to celebrate.

Featured titles and experiences include Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Super Mario Wonder, Mario Kart World and the recently released Yoshi and the Mysterious Book.

Demo kiosks also allow visitors to explore games from franchises such as The Legend of ZeldaKirbyMetroidXenoblade Chronicles, and Pokémon, showcasing the depth of the brand’s gaming catalog.

Products from third-party publishers that support the company’s platforms are also available, further expanding the selection for shoppers.

The opening of the Makati store reflects the Japanese gaming giant’s continued expansion across Southeast Asia.

In recent years, the company has strengthened its regional operations, including the establishment of a Singapore-based subsidiary that oversees business activities in the region.

For Filipino fans, the arrival of an authorized retail store represents more than just a new shopping destination — it signals the Philippines’ growing importance in the regional gaming industry and recognizes the strong community that has supported the brand across generations.
