If most TV commercials haven’t been holding your attention lately, Eden Cheese is changing things up with Cheese The One, a new vertical micro-series that blends branded storytelling with Filipino drama.
As audiences continue to shift toward mobile-first viewing habits, Eden Cheese is pairing product innovation with digital storytelling, introducing a well-loved and reformulated cheese product alongside short-form, smartphone-optimized entertainment designed for today’s scrolling culture.
The brand recently rolled out an improved cheese formula, described as creamier and milkier, as part of its broader push into “snackable” content through the micro-series.
Building on earlier digital storytelling efforts, Eden Cheese is focusing on mobile-native content that reflects how Filipino families now consume media — short, episodic narratives tailored for vertical viewing.
Helming the series are filmmaker Dan Villegas and cinematographer Paolo Orendain, who bring a cinematic lens to the format. The project draws inspiration from traditional Filipino teleseryes but reworks the emotional intensity for mobile screens, using tighter storytelling and a more intimate visual approach.
Each episode is structured as a short-form drama designed to deliver emotionally driven storytelling without sacrificing narrative depth in a condensed format.
Product innovation meets content strategy

The brand’s shift into mobile storytelling aligns with its product development efforts, forming part of a broader strategy to evolve alongside changing consumer habits.
“Just as we’ve upgraded our recipe for a better experience at the table, we’re also leveling up the way we reach and engage our consumers,” said Adrian Manlapig, Marketing Head for Mondelez International Philippines.
He added that working with Villegas and Orendain allowed the brand to present its product refresh in a format aligned with how audiences now consume content.
Reimagining Filipino drama for mobile screens

For Villegas, the vertical format offers a more intimate way to bring Filipino storytelling to modern audiences.
He said it enhances emotional proximity between viewers and characters, making every interaction more immediate and personal.
“What excited me about this project was finding a way to tell a very Filipino story that feels natural for today’s audience,” Villegas said. “The vertical format brings you closer to the characters—it makes every look, every line, more personal.”
Early buzz builds for micro-series
The first episode of the four-part micro-series has begun generating online traction, introducing a central family conflict between Leah and Sylvia.
The story follows Leah (Netty Inojales), Joaquin (Marc Acueza), and Sylvia (Connie Cuneta) as they navigate love, pride, and acceptance, with shared meals heightening emotional tension throughout the narrative.
New episodes of Cheese The One are available on Eden Cheese’s official Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube channels.
