AXA Philippines makes its first mark at ART SG 2026

Every January, Singapore becomes a crossroads for the global art community. Collectors arrive with lists, curators with questions, and artists with new ways of seeing the world.

At ART SG, museum-quality works meet the pulse of contemporary Southeast Asian creativity, turning the fair into both marketplace and mirror of the region’s evolving cultural identity.

This year, the conversation expands with a new participant: AXA Philippines, making its debut at ART SG 2026 as part of a unified regional presence by the AXA Group.

AXA XL, the group’s Property & Casualty and specialty risk arm, returns to the fair for the fourth consecutive year, having supported ART SG since its launch. But 2026 marks a wider regional gathering, bringing together AXA Philippines alongside AXA Thailand, Krungthai-AXA Life, and AXA Insurance Indonesia.

The collective presence signals a shared interest in nurturing Southeast Asia’s creative ecosystem — while engaging more closely with local communities across borders.

Art, purpose, and partnership take center stage

Cyril Kongo and his iconic artworks at ART SG, where AXA Philippines celebrates the power of art to inspire, connect, and create impact.

At the center of AXA’s participation is a collaboration with Cyril Kongo, the French-Vietnamese artist whose work merges graffiti, calligraphy, and vivid abstraction.

Created exclusively for ART SG 2026, Kongo’s new piece explores ideas of limitless possibility and positive impact — visual themes that echo how art can provoke reflection, start conversations, and inspire change.

The partnership builds on a creative relationship that began more than a decade ago in Paris, when AXA first worked with Kongo as an emerging street artist. Today, his work appears in galleries and collections worldwide, and the ART SG collaboration reflects both his growth and AXA’s sustained interest in artists who challenge conventional forms and cultural boundaries.

AXA’s engagement at the fair, however, extends beyond the exhibition halls. Through the AXA Foundation for Human Progress, the group is also supporting selected local initiatives across Southeast Asia focused on child protection.

These efforts are designed to connect creative expression with concrete social action, reinforcing the idea that art can function as a catalyst for wider community impact.

A milestone debut with cultural purpose

For AXA Philippines, the ART SG debut represents both a milestone and a statement of intent. It places the brand within the region’s art and high-net-worth ecosystem while underscoring a broader commitment to purpose-led participation in cultural spaces.

“At its core, general insurance is about protecting what people value most, so they can move forward with confidence,” said Gael Lapie, Chief General Insurance Officer of AXA Philippines. “Guided by our purpose to act for human progress, our participation in ART SG reflects how protection can enable creativity, preserve cultural expression, and support communities in pursuing what matters to them.”

As ART SG continues to shape the cultural narrative of Southeast Asia, AXA Philippines’ presence positions the company not simply as a sponsor, but as a partner in the region’s creative life — one that sees art as a shared language and a bridge between imagination and responsibility.

In a fair where aesthetics meet ideas, AXA’s participation at ART SG 2026 serves as a reminder that art’s value lies not only in what it displays, but in what it encourages people to protect, support, and envision.
