Bnn Anjelo Tadeja, an architecture student from the University of Northern Philippines, Vigan City, Ilocos Sur, and Maureen Abegail Mendoza, an interior design student from the University of San Carlos, Cebu City, have recently been crowned national winners for their groundbreaking projects, “BILAG: From Scattered to Gathered Space for Sunbathed Grains” and “KITA-KITA: A Resilient Community Center.”

Tadeja and Mendoza’s journey continues as they advance to the AYDA Awards international finale in Chennai, India, from July 3-5. Representing the Philippines on a global platform, they will compete against top national winners from around the world.
The ultimate accolade, the title of ‘Designers of the Year,’ includes a coveted spot in the June 2025 cohort of Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design’s Design Discovery Program — a fully funded opportunity valued at up to USD 10,000.
The AYDA Awards also recognize exceptional achievements in several categories, including the Best Mentor Award, the Nippon Paint Colour Award, the Best Sustainable Design Award, and the Best Design Impact Award.
