TWICE makes history as first K-pop girl group with ten Billboard 200 albums

TWICE has made history once again by becoming the first K-pop girl group to have ten albums chart on the Billboard 200, following the debut of “TEN: The Story Goes On” at No. 11.

This achievement is only one of TWICE’s many milestones since their debut a decade ago.

The group’s lasting impact not only reflects their success and growth but also marks K-pop as a global phenomenon here to stay.

The story begins

TWICE celebrates their 10th Anniversary with the release of their new album “TEN: The Story Goes On

In 2015, JYP Entertainment debuted a nine-member girl group, TWICE, featuring Nayeon, Jihyo, Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, Dahyun, Sana, Mina, Momo, and Chaeyoung.

TWICE quickly became a household name after their breakout hit Cheer Up,” whose virality catapulted the group to stardom across Asia. The group’s early successes earned them the title of Nation’s Girl Group in South Korea — a distinction reserved for only the biggest acts in the country.

By 2018, the K-pop group began expanding internationally into Western markets, culminating in their first English single “The Feels” in 2021. They followed this with their major “Ready to Be” World Tour, which ran from 2023 to 2024.

During this tour, TWICE became the first K-pop girl group to headline stadiums in the U.S., performing at venues like SoFi Stadium and MetLife Stadium.

As of now, the group is in the midst of their largest world tour to date, called “This Is For,” performing an impressive 72 concerts across 43 regions worldwide.

K-pop group’s formula to love

After a decade of activity, TWICE continues to top charts and break records. According to TWICE’s Mina, one reason for this is the group’s musicality.

Initially, TWICE’s involvement in music creation started with writing credits, but it has since evolved — with members now composing and vocal-directing some songs.

Apart from this, TWICE has also experimented with different genres while staying true to their distinct sound. From “I Can’t Stop Me”’s disco synth-pop tune to “Me + You”’s soft R&B style, TWICE has demonstrated both musical growth and versatility over time.

“I believe that the unique point of TWICE is that we are always true to our music style. Even though we’ve tried different concepts and genres over the years, our music has the power of making listeners realize that they are listening to TWICE’s song,” Mina shared during TWICE’s 2022 interview with the GRAMMYs.

Behind TWICE’s music lies a mastery of the K-pop system that has propelled them into the global mainstream. What transformed aspiring rookies into global sensations is sustained visibility turned into strong connections.

From releasing localized projects like their Japanese album “Enemy” to engaging with fans on platforms like Weverse and Bubble, the K-pop girl group has ensured their brand remains accessible to a diverse audience.

Today, TWICE has amassed millions of followers across social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. As K-pop’s global reach continues to grow, this number will only rise.

With that in mind, TWICE didn’t just find the formula of love — they turned it into a global strategy.

The story goes On

TWICE’s recent achievements are a reminder of their global dominance, redefining what long-term success means in the fast-moving world of K-pop.

From performing at the 2025 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show to partnering with Netflix’s most-watched film K-Pop Demon Hunters, TWICE shows no signs of slowing down — promising an exciting future ahead.

TWICE’s leader Jihyo shared, “Since this marks our 10th year, it will be even more changed than the landscape. We are looking forward to showing our new and fresh sides.”

For TWICE, their story has only just begun.
