In the Philippine public relations industry, there is one stage that matters most. One night when campaigns, conversations, and carefully crafted narratives are put under the brightest lights — and judged by the best in the field.
That stage is the ANVIL Awards.
Often called the “Oscars of Philippine PR,” the Public Relations Society of the Philippines’ flagship awards once again proved its pull, as the 61st ANVIL Awards drew strong participation from across industries, agencies, and institutions — affirming its place as the country’s highest bar for public relations excellence.
This year, the awards received 622 entries, nearly matching last year’s 649 submissions. But beyond the numbers, what stood out was the widening circle of organizations choosing to step into the ANVIL spotlight.
From last year’s 118 participating companies and institutions, the 61st ANVIL Awards saw entries from 193 organizations — 151 companies and 42 agencies — marking one of the broadest representations the awards have seen in recent years.
“For us, this growth is deeply meaningful,” said Ana Pista, APR, vice president for External of PRSP and chair of the 61st ANVIL Awards. “It shows that more organizations see value in having their work measured against clear standards of strategy, creativity, and results. The ANVIL Awards continues to be where practitioners test themselves against what excellence in public relations really means today.”
Where strategy meets execution

At its core, the ANVIL Awards is designed to honor both the thinking and the doing behind effective communication.
Entries are evaluated under two main categories: PR Programs and PR Tools — each serving a distinct purpose in recognizing excellence.
PR Programs focus on the campaign as a whole: the big idea, the strategy behind it, the research that informed it, and the results it delivered.
These entries are assessed as complete, integrated efforts, with the most outstanding campaign earning the coveted Grand ANVIL — the highest honor in this category.
This year, the PR Programs category awarded 39 Gold ANVILs and 120 Silver ANVILs, reflecting a highly competitive field and the growing sophistication of campaign-driven work in the industry.
PR Tools, meanwhile, shine a spotlight on executional excellence. These include the materials and platforms that bring strategies to life—media kits, videos, digital content, events, websites, apps, and internal communication tools. While not campaigns on their own, they play a critical role in making ideas resonate.
In this category, 3 Gold ANVILs and 25 Silver ANVILs were conferred, with the most effective tool receiving the Platinum ANVIL, the top distinction for PR Tools.
“This distinction allows us to recognize both strategic excellence and executional innovation,” Pista explained. “A strong campaign needs a solid strategy — but it also needs tools that work in the real world.”
Judged by the industry’s best
What sets the ANVIL Awards apart — and cements its reputation as the PR industry’s equivalent of the Oscars — is its rigorous, multi-layered judging process.
All entries underwent initial screening and evaluation by a panel of around 75 judges drawn from communications, media, business, and related fields. The results were then validated by SGV & Co., PRSP’s external auditor, before moving to final deliberations by a Panel of Jurors on January 10.
From this final stage, only a handful rose to the very top: six winners for Top PR Programs and four for Top PR Tools — among the most coveted recognitions in Philippine public relations.
“We are deeply grateful to our judges and jurors for the time, focus, and care they devoted to reviewing the entries,” said Pista. “Judging is no small task, and their rigor and professional insight are essential to maintaining the credibility of the ANVIL Awards.”
Pushing past possibilities

The 61st ANVIL Awards carried the theme “The 61st Second: Pushing Past Possibilities,” a reflection of PRSP’s push to keep the awards — and the profession — moving forward.
As public relations becomes more complex and more accountable, creativity alone is no longer enough. Research, strategy, and measurable results now carry as much weight as bold ideas.
“Our goal is to keep the ANVIL Awards globally relevant and responsive to how the practice of PR is evolving,” Pista said. “The work we recognize must not only be creative, but grounded, strategic, and impactful.”
All eyes on Gabi ng Parangal
The full roster of winners will be officially unveiled at the Gabi ng Parangal on January 28, to be held at Ballroom 2 and 3 of Solaire Resort North, where the PR community will once again gather to celebrate work that pushed boundaries and moved audiences.
Now in its 61st year, the ANVIL Awards remains the industry’s gold standard — recognizing not just standout campaigns and tools, but the discipline, integrity, and purpose behind them.
In an industry built on shaping narratives, the ANVIL Awards continues to tell its own most enduring story: that excellent public relations matters, and that excellence deserves the spotlight.
